1-4-105. Defeated candidate ineligible.

Statute text

No person who has been defeated as a candidate in a primary election shall be eligible for election to the same office by ballot or as a write-in candidate in the next general election unless the party vacancy committee nominates that person.

Annotations

A defeated candidate in a primary election is not barred from being named as a candidate to fill a vacancy occasioned by the death of the regular nominee for the office. Armstrong v. Simonson, 84 Colo. 472, 271 P. 627 (1928) (decided under former law).
